Do You Like or Like Like Me?

Friday, August 2, 2019

Happy Friday Babes!!
I'm going to get right into this, word on the street is Instagram has plans to disable the like feature to be viewed by users other than oneself. I wanted to write a little blurb about that and get your thoughts!

Instagram has built a world where we often find ourselves basing our worth off of something intangible, likes. Of COURSE I am guilty of this, the more likes I get, the better I feel not only about my content, but myself! Posting a photo of something I'm super proud of and it doesn't get that many likes? I'll take things personally and go as far as feeling offended. What about posting a photo of mySELF?! A flood of likes? MEGA CONFIDENCE BOOST! Little to no likes?! INSTANT HURT!
Naturally, taking away likes would possibly take away the comparative toll it takes on our mental health, but that serious topic aside, what about how it will effect content creators and influencers? Some think it will be a big issue and hurt a lot of brands and bloggers. My opinion? It's the best thing Instagram could ever do.

As a small creator I am constantly frustrated by numbers because I KNOW my content is good, and yet somehow I am not getting the likes to represent that. Taking away likes levels the playing field for all content creators. I get denied from working with companies all the time because I don't get enough likes when in reality, to totally toot my own horn, my work in my own not-so-humble opinion is just as, if not BETTER than a lot of the influencers who pose with products in front of a white brick wall and deem that as good content while I'm spending hours on stop motion animations and full on videos or photoshoots?

no shade, but like.........................shade.
Leading our lives surrounded by likes that define our worth is toxic and unfortunately something undeniably addictive. Perhaps my opinion is unpopular, but I want to start a conversation about this! Bigger blogger babes what do you think? Aspiring content creation creators what do YOU think?

For the longest time I admitted to caring about likes for the sole reason being the ability to grow, collaborate, be seen by the algorithm, and literally EVERYTHING ELSE IN BETWEEN that has to do with being a blogger. It has been TOUGH, growing is HARD, making content that wants to be seen is FRUSTRATING! This begs the question how the algorithm will change, perhaps it will be chronological again? I hope!!
This post was more of a quick little rant than anything, but it's sort of me just putting my thoughts out there and I want to hear yours!! DM me on Instagram to keep the conversation going!

Social Media Setbacks and Stress

Monday, February 4, 2019

Hi.
Below is a quick rant on how I'm feeling regarding social media.
It is time consuming and I want out, but at the same time I love it.
Enjoy:

Here's the thing. I've been on social media a little over seven years. At first it was all for fun and games, a few years passed and I had gained some success, but honestly now I am at a total stand still.

I have been so busy with school and with the stress of trying to gain social media momentum when nothing is going annnyyywhereeee, I'm thinking what's the point?
Every year I have done a little segment called "The Birthday Chronicles" where I have made a birthday bucket list and posted everyday of me doing those things. This year that just didn't happen. I have been on and off of Instagram in the past few weeks as well.

There are pros and cons to this.

Pros being that I don't spend as much time mindlessly scrolling when I am bettering my time and that I like not being on my phone as much.

Cons? SO many unfortunate cons.

1. I'm constantly missing important messages that I need about photoshoot opportunities, monetized work related things, etc.
2. My engagement is going downnnnn, which obviously isn't ideal
3. This is my job, my instagram is my brand, my blog is my job, you get it. But if I don't put in the work how am I going to get anywhere?
It's a constant cycle of just being screwed. I try, I really do, I do all the things that the business influencers say, I really try it all. And yet I get nowhere!

At this point it is a career question. Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life? Do I need to highly maintain this platform in order to even get the career I desire?!

I'm taking a business of marketing class right now, and it's nothing but stress. Stressers include but are not limited to: how you have to be consistent, post everyday, have a super active social media presence, have the perfect business cards that will lead clients to the perfect website with a zillion other perfect social platforms.

When does it end? Is my social media presence not enough? Will I ever get hired? Why can't I just delete Instagram and live at peace with that and still get hired at the best summer internship in New York leading me to the best of the best career after I graduate?!
This is a rant. Obviously.

Who knows who will or will not see this, as it is my numbers are dropping so rapidly, where in the mix do I even care anymore? Oh right, because social media, my blog, youtube, instagram and all that is what I'm passionate about and what I love to do... right.

To whomever said, "Do what you love, then you'll never work a day in your life." That is a lie, I work and I work hard. It's frustrating, time consuming and draining, do I love it though? yes.

That's all for now.
Do you find yourself struggling to find the healthy balance of social media?

OLIVE BARRETT IS 7!!!!

Wednesday, December 26, 2018

HELLO!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! YAY! Seven, what EVEN! I started this blog, seven years ago... WHAT?! Time has flown by so freaking fast, and I feel like I probably say that EVERY year when it's my little baby blogs birthday, but STILL!

That is one thing that will never change, time will forever feel ungraspable. It's so funny how in the moment, when times get tough and it feels like I'm never going to get through something, when it does pass, and I look back on that moment, it feels so small. This year on the other hand has been huge. SO much has happened. I am going to go through more of my actual year once I do my year in review post, which will literally be NEXT WEEK! But until then I just wanted to say thank you.

This year has been full of ups and downs, it was a huge year of change, not to mention rebranding, but CHANGE, and something that always grounds me is you guys. Because of all my fantastic, loyal readers and supporters. My blog, like I've maybe creepily said too many times, is my baby. I have loved watching it grow and see how it evolves and what it does for me.

I have done so many fun collaborations, met so many people, and am so SO endlessly grateful for it all. Thank you!! Let's make this next year even better :-)
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo, O

Also! Check out my instagram for some trips down blog memory lane...
I love you all!

Why What I Do is Hard

Warning: very wordy, somewhat ranty post below.

Hello hello! Happy Labor Day, the holiday where work stops and all of America heads to the nearest water source in attempt to soak up the last bit of sun before Summer ends, as always though, work doesn't stop for me. Not even on a holiday. Actually I feel like I work more sometimes when holidays come around. It's an easy thing to shoot, write about, and post about, why wouldn't I? Lately though I have been struggling a little bit with what I do. No I am not technically "employed" and no I do not get payed, not a single penny, but I'm still working as if I do, and I'm getting tired, a little strung out and frustrated with the world of blogging. Here's why...

At the end of this year, it will be a full seven years since I hopped into the world of blogging, also knows as The Blogosphere. When I started I didn't know what I was getting myself into, I didn't know it would become my life. I didn't know that I'd be that friend begging to pull over to take a picture at every colored wall we see, and draining my bank account on photogenic ice cream. But here we are 7 years later. That is my life.

That and pulling all nighters rebranding things people probably don't even notice, drowning in hours of editing videos and photos. Doing endless research to make sure I can come up with funny, fresh, unique content. Learning the way things work like, dare I say the cursed word: algorithms... Hating being that person who uses an abundant amount of hashtags, but hoping no one will notice if I sneak them in. Staying up late, or moving plans around so I can post at the perfect time in order to get the most engagement. It is hard work.
Here's why it's so frustrating. Seven whole years later, and I am seeing incredibly minimal growth. I see people all the time on Instagram posting things along the lines of, "I can't believe it, one year ago today I opened my computer and decided to try something new, and here I am, so thankful for our lovely community, you guys are the best!" Talking to their 30-some-thousand followers... meanwhile me trying to engage with my 2-thousand-some followers who are mainly people who I know on a personal level, it is so hard not to compare myself to these influencers who have some how skyrocketed in the world of blogging and not ask myself, "why in the world am I not that girl?" "WHAT am I doing wrong?"

I work with as many brands as I can to build my repertoire and a good basis of my work ethic in content creation for companies, and still no growth, which means less and less companies want to work with me, which means I don't get payed, which means that I'm not even considered for bigger brand deals. Here's the thing though, I work just as hard if not harder than so many bloggers I see out there in the world. I am completely capable of coming up with creative and fun ways to advertise things that no one has seen before, and yet I go unnoticed. I am there, I am on their level, but I am tied down by numbers. 2,387 followers, an average of 200-350 likes per photo, 12% engagement, 4,000 average monthly blog pageviews, 1,193 subscribers, and an estimated revenue of only $13.15, ranging from 350-1,000 views depending if it's in the right niche. These numbers are incredibly tiny when it comes to being "successful" in the blogging world. Which of course, who wouldn't want to be successful!? I'm a student sure, but I don't have another job, this is not just my hobby, this is my full time hustle, side only to trying to maintain a 4.0, which by the way, also isn't easy...

Don't get my wrong I love what I do, but you have to understand how difficult and aggravating it can be when you try and try and try and still get no attention. And to the readers who aren't bloggers, this probably sounds like the most narcissistic post you've ever read, but when you are your brand it's hard not to be a little bit of a narcissist. And that's the thing, I am putting myself out there, photos of myself, videos of me talking, acting, trying to give advice, photoshoots I think are cool and fun, and then get minimal reactions, it's very hard not to let that get to me. What am I doing wrong? Is it the content? But wait, I am the content, why are people unfollowing me? Do they not like me?! What did I do wrong!?
Bloggers get a lot of hate for what we do. People do think we are incredibly narcissistic, shallow even, and obsessed with being better than others, obsessed with likes. Here's the thing, I don't feel validated by the number of likes (honestly), I see it strictly from the business prospective. I want to create great big things, and the fact that I can market off of myself, and start from essentially nothing except who I am and build off of that, I think that is so cool. Blogging isn't easy, but that doesn't mean everyone can't do it. We live in a world where all of this is at our fingertips, there is no reason not to at least try to create and see where it goes. It's only when you get in deep and start wanting to create full time, that's when the going gets tough.

Here I am trying to make the most out of everything that I do, but with such low engagement, it makes me think, why? Am I wasting my time? When I was at the Teen Vogue summit last winter, I was in a small panel with Olivia Jade (Youtuber, icon girl) and I asked her, "I have been blogging and making videos for some time now, and feel like I am not getting anywhere, how did you, when starting out, get past this feeling of not growing, but knowing you still needed to keep going?" Her answer quite literally was, "You just have to get out there, you have to make that viral video, for me it was my Everyday Makeup Routine video, I woke up the next morning with thousands of views and just kept growing from there! You got this!" *goes on to continue to talk about her boring makeup video... I like Olivia Jade I do, but what kind of advice is that? I keep trying to make "that viral video" but what if I never do? What if my blog never picks up? What if my Instagram followers remain people I personally know and follow back? It is so stressful.

At the end of it all I guess you could just call this a rant, I am going to still work, create, and produce new content for you all, and for myself too. So I'm not going anywhere. Just stressing about it all. Not to mention I have one of the hardest quarters ahead of me at SCAD this fall... But here's to pushing through, kicking the algorithm's butt, and making the best of what I can do! I am determined to keep going, and to do what I love, but please be patient and understand that it is very hard. So here's to that. xo, O

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? Today marks SIX FULL YEARS of blogging!! How crazy is that?! Honestly, I am so incredibly proud of myself for this accomplishment. My blog has brought me so many amazing things in my life-- jobs, scholarships, friendships, a BUNCH of free stuff! (lol) But seriously, I have my blog to thank for so many great opportunities and what not. This year, although I do wish I had posted a bit more, was a very, very successful year. I can't wait for the seventh year to be even better!
I always love looking back on my all time top posts and seeing what y'all like to look at! These are my top viewed posts of ALL TIME! year after year it's always that last post "Bae" with photos of hot guys, I can see what y'alls REAL priorities are!!!

Back to School Styles with Warby Parker // Self Portrait // Traipsing Around Town with a Camera and a Girl Named Leney // Body Backlash // Oh Fall Photoshoot! // Blogger Besties *EDIT* Collage is messed up, this is supposed to be, Pool Party // Mod & Soul xATLT // Bae
As for this year, these are the top of the top viewed posts! Some of my favorite shoots too, glad we are all on the same page :)

Savannah Spotlights // New Now // SCAD Fashion Show Street Style // Magic of Vulnerability // Blogger Besties (didn't mean to have this in there twice sorry) // Queen of Pops // Applications Now Open: Searching for the B to my V // Blossom // Pool Party // NYC photo diaries // Beach Babe // Spin City
It was a successful year on Instagram as well!! You all really seem to like my boyfriend (hey I do too) and my more serious photoshoots, YAHOO!! My feed transitioned to be more colorful, which I loved, but it seems as though everyone really likes the darker photos! Hmmm... Give me a follow to stay tuned!
And lastly, I really picked up my YouTube channel, which was STELLAR! I gained quick popularity with my college series videos, but am still working to gain subscribers and viewers! I am working on doing weekly vlogs each week, as well as a classic YT video every Sunday!

Overall this year was a huge success for All Those Little Things! I cannot wait to see what year seven has in store for me :) I look forward to even more collaborations, exciting photoshoots, and so much MORE!!

Thank you to everyone who reads :) I really cannot begin to thank you enough honestly, you mean the world to me. You're part of the reason I continue to do what I love to do!! Keep reading, commenting, and sharing, thank you from the bottom of my heart <3 xo, O

shirt+shoes- Forever 21 // jeans- IZod

Hey Fam! Today I watched The Incredibles and after hearing the quite iconic line, "fly home Buddy, I work alone" it got me thinking... "hmmmmm, working alone, I do that! And sometimes it's not so easy... why wouldn't Mr. Incredible want help? weird". Working alone. All the time you hear bloggers being like, "how I launched my blog into a multimillon dollar business" (@abeautifulmess.....) or like, "I am a full time blogger, this is my company!" Which I just think is the coolest thing in the world, like, all though I don't have a team constantly working on my blog with me, I am capable of creating a brand for myself.

My aunt said last week, (something along the lines of) "It's so cool now with all this social media and blogging, you don't need to get hundreds of internships or jobs to try to make it to the top, you just have to get people reading about you, and you can do it all on your own!" And that is exactly what I plan to do. Yes, I'll have internships and jobs here and there, but the fact that I can express who I am with just a camera and a laptop I think is SO cool!! So on that note, I thought I'd share some thoughts, tips, experiences if you will, on working alone. This is pretty blogger specific, but yeah, enjoyyyy...
Self Timer Struggles// Man oh man, the harsh reality that not everyone and anyone is always willing to take photos of you at any given moment is rough. So this is where good ol' self timer comes in. And let me tell you, it is NOT easy. Back in the day when I just used a point and shoot, things were a breeze... but not quite as simple with a DSLR and complex lenses. There are so many different levels and trying to get something in focus is SO DANG HARD. I used to have a self timer remote (thanks ally!) but it stopped working... maybe it ran out of battery? The world may never know...
Slump City// Yes, there will be times when you're feeling sorta alone and don't even know if anyone really is reading your blog, "Why am I even doing this?" "This takes up so much time?" "I have no one to motivate me" "Where my squad at?".  Okay Okay Okay, take a breathhhherrrrrr, everything is going to be OKAY! You started this blog in the first place to express your love for fashion (that's me at least, what do you love?) No you aren't surrounded with employees to tell you where to shoot photos, the budget for that DIY project, what to simply do next, or where to go with that run on sentence... But you gotta hand it to yourself, you've made it this far being a strong independent online personality, you can keep going!
Connection Disconnection// After a few months of blogging I started getting attention from other bloggers through comments, collaboration inquiries, and things of that nature. But then there was some sort of lull... Honestly, I don't really get any comments any more, which is actually pretty sad! I LOVE hearing what my readers think! It means the world to know your reading! I mean yeah, I can look at my Blogger Stats page and see where in the world all this traffic is coming from, but it's way nicer to see your names and what you honestly think about my content! Also, collaboration is a HUGE blogger thing. Being sponsored is a BIG deal and SOOO awesome if you get the chance to have a few sponsors!! Sometimes they'll reach out to you, but the real way to get attention, especially if you are working independently, is to reach out yourself. Email email EMAIL! Comment connect COLLABORATE!!! It's honestly, SOO easy, and it's a GREAT way to get your name out there on other platforms.

Well, that's all I have for now, I could go on and on and ON about blogging and how its effected me and all that jazz, but it's 1:38 am and I am about to passsss outttt. I've got lots of college-y things to do tomorrow! Weee! I hope this was if not slightly helpful, somewhat interesting. I love you all so SO much. Thanks for being the BEST ever! xx

Ramen and Protips

Hey guys! Last night when I was trolling around on the internet looking at all my fave blogs I found Alyssa Lau's list of eighteen tips for bloggers. I really enjoyed reading through these and felt like they're really legit and useful. SO I thought I'd share them with you :)
And I threw in some photos of me eating Ramen noodles cause I'm weird great like that.

+++++

ONE / Appreciate yourself!

TWO / As a wittle blogger in a very big and crowded blogosphere, it's paramount to connect with creators and creative minds in your community (whether in-person or online). And online communities and hubs such as Lookbook and Chictopia are great websites for bloggers to branch out and network. On that note, make an effort to attend local events. Your home will become a lot cooler when you find out how many creative minds live there.

THREE / Stay inspired. Throughout the years I've been blogging, Tumblr has been a phenomenal source of inspiration. Every now and then, I'll find a photo that strikes me, or an outfit that I want to a adapt to my own aesthetic.
FOUR / Blog about things that you're passionate about.
FIVE / Never, ever tell yourself you can't "pull something off". This is the poorest excuse to not try something new. If you truly believe that you can pull off  that floor-length faux fur coat, then nobody is doubting you.
SIX / Don't fret over how many followers you have (unless you enjoy the constant anxiety and stress that comes with doing so).
SEVEN /  Ask questions. Lots of them. And if people don't reply. Ask me.
EIGHT / Yes, it's really weird having someone take photos of you sporting your new fave outfit. But have fun with it. If you have a friend or S.O. who can help you take photos, remind them how much you appreciate them. And if not, then invest in a tripod and wireless remote.
NINE / Be receptive to constructive criticism, but don't take crap from people. There's a fine line between trying to help someone and just being an jerk. But, at the same time, be kind to everyone.
TEN / Try to make the most out of the opportunities you get. This isn't saying you should accept every collaboration request you get (especially the ones that don't resonate with your own personal aesthetic). Just keep as many doors open, and eventually you'll be glad you did.
ELEVEN / Post persistently and consistently.
TWELVE / Use that sharpen tool in Instagram. Do it.
THIRTEEN / And while we're talking about Instagram. Download VSCO Cam, and make sure to download the free filters they offer. Maybe you'll find one you'll like.
FOURTEEN / Find a blogging platform that works for you. I currently use Blogspot, but Wordpress and Squarespace have great templates should you be hesitant about coding your own blog.
FIFTEEN / I own a [Canon Reble T3i] with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. You don't necessarily need a full frame camera, but a lens with a large aperture (small f-stop) is definitely one you should invest in. A shallow depth of field will make a whole lotta difference in photos.
SIXTEEN / Stop paying attention to trends. This isn't to say that you can't appreciate trends. Just forget about them. Go treat yourself to that thing you love but is no longer flaunted by magazines. Style is eternal. Trends, not so much.
SEVENTEEN / Learn how to code. Learn about lighting and photography. Learn everything you can.
EIGHTEEN / Google knows all. If you're going to remember anything from this post, this would probably be the most important.

Like A Local Magazine

Hey guys!! I have some super exciting news for y'all today!
So, back in January I got an email asking if I would take part in writing a spread for the online magazine, Like A Local. They are a traveling magazine that gets the inside scoop on cool captivating cities. Coming the the US for the first time, they wanted their third issue to cover Richmond! Sooooooo.... I thought, well yes, of COURSE I would LOVE to do this.... but what in the world would I cover? At first I thought I wanted to do a street style, fashion around RVA article, with pictures and such, but it was winter and everyone is in their heavy coats, nothing too unique there... But then I realized, I am such a people person and am constantly interested in other people, learning about them and what they love, getting the in on their personalities and lives... why don't I get to know some of RVA's people. So, I went into Cary Town where I knew lots of people would be and asked around what everyone's favorite thing about Richmond is. Take a look and enjoy reading!

What is Natural Beauty?

This post may contain some content some readers might not agree on, however this is my blog and this is where I express my feelings. So please, hold your comments.
Also, this is my story and it wont apply to everyone.
Above you see a photo of me, surrounded by hurtful, confusing things that people not only say but feel. This post is going to by sort of hard for me to write, just because there is so much I need and want to say, but don't know how to put it into words.

The past sixteen years of my life I have been hit with bouts of feeling too skinny, too fat, boyish, slutty, pressured to be wild and myself, pressure to be the best, yet not a try too hard. To be honest, I was my worst bully, I was always so concerned about what other people think and how I needed to be the best, the boldest, the strongest, when in reality, if I could, everyday I'd just hide.

I grew up in a home where I was taught that being yourself is what matters. And, in the words of Taylor Swift, just shake it off... "It", being all the haters of course. I say "grew" up because, yeah I'm still of course growing up, and living at home but, I do feel very independent now... But back to what I was saying, these feelings often related back to my fashion/style. I've always been the girl who wore the wacky and wild clothes, but then as I got older, and more into fashion, I realized that what I was wearing was just a mess, it was okay for nine year old Olivia, but not sixteen year old Olivia. It felt like I couldn't wear something "normal" (more put together) with out people staring and saying things like, "Wow Olivia, why are you dressed so boring?" "Olivia, you look normal for a change." "Olivia, I didn't even notice you!" When I first started going to my school I go to now, I was ridiculed for the weird way I dressed. I dressed for myself, I didn't "fit in" and the girls who had been going there for years did not like the change. People began to accept it as they never one with my "Shake it Off" attitude. But then when I changed, I got called out, and those comments hurt. I spent so long forcing myself to "be myself" or who I used to be, but keep people thinking that I'm still this wild person. Telling myself that I wasn't good enough unless I made heads turn and was always better than everyone else. That beat me up, thinking that I had to be the best all the time. And when I wasn't? When I wasn't perfect? That was terrible. I just wanted to hide. But I faked it until I started really seriously doing things for myself, like, my haircut.

I have wanted to get my haircut for years but the thing that was always holding me back were all my potential haters. I thought, would if people don't like it? Would if all of a sudden everyone thinks I'm gay? Will guys still like me? Would if people think I look butch? Will I have to loose weight to look girly? Am I going to have to buy a whole new wardrobe of just fluttery dresses? Silly questions like this haunted me. Which was weird because so many absolutely beautiful women including extremely famous celebrities have pixie cuts, and no one makes nasty remarks about them. Something at camp this year changed me, not only that it was my last and best summer as a camper, but when it gave me an entirely new confidence that I don't even know where it came from. But after camp I knew that my previous accusations against the pixie were silly because it didn't matter what other people thought, I've wanted this hair cut for like ever and it was time I did something for myself and not the people around me. Call it selfish, but it's been pretty darn empowering.

Like I said earlier, I was my worst bully. I could go into body confidence, but that is an entire other post and I just don't want to get into that now. However, I will touch on another topic, equality.
Only eight letters and somehow it's the biggest word in the book. There is so much I wish I could do to rip all of the hate out of this world and live peacefully with everyone, but it's not that easy. I am a feminist. I don't know if you all are familiar with Emma Watson's speech at the UN but it is pretty amazing. A vast majority of people think that feminism is just women being better than men, after being beaten down and slut shamed, and things like that. The definition of feminism is, "the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men". Equality, not hate, not putting down men, or women being more powerful, but being equal. Human to Human, person to person.

What I'm about to talk about I don't have all the facts on so don't come yelling at me if I get something wrong, but the other day, December 28th, Leelah Alcorn committed suicide due to the fact that she, a transgender teen was not accepted or treated with respect as the human being she was. In her suicide note that has gone absolutely viral on tumblr and many other networks, she pleads that we need to "fix society". I 100% agree with Leelah. I saw a tweet last night on Tumblr saying, "Christians, if you reject abortion but refuse to love your LGBTQ children then don't bother calling yourselves "pro-life" #LeelahAlcorn" tweeted by @writesnrights.
My blog is a safe place for my to express my feelings and opinions, so please, do NOT get angry with me for what I believe in. I believe in a world where we could all live equally, accepting every single person, reaching out and loving ever single person.

That may have sounded like a ramble, but now, to get to the point:

The first step to equality is accepting yourself and learning to accept others. But how to you accept yourself? By finding your natural beauty. Find what makes you special, be selfish and do things for yourself, try to forget the haters and dig as deeeeeep as you can to find what makes you YOU and not the person others want you to be, be who you were born to be. Natural beauty is something they try to advertise and sell in magazines, but it can't be bought, you need to find it yourself. And you WILL, there WILL come a time where you will be powerful and rule your own world,  and love every moment of it. Once you love yourself, and find what makes you beautiful (in your OWN eyes) then it will be 100x easier to love those around you, and you're one step closer to equality. Being someone who views the world through the eyes of someone who loves them self and every aspect of who they are, loves those around them, and knows that that's what they need.

Find your natural beauty, shake it off, and you're already one step closer to a brighter world of equality :)
Above, you see a photo of me loving life, and conquering my natural, inner beauty, happier than ever.
Good Luck!

Hello Everyone!
Today I am happy to introduce one of my favorite bloggers, Kalee from Fred Rongo! I've been following Kalee for some time now and absolutely love her blog... I asked Kalee some questions just so you guys could get to know her a little bit :)
Now go on, check out her awesome blog!xoxo

first, some questions on blogging:

1. When and did you want to start blogging?
I started blogging in May of 2012 after some encouragement from my boss! I was always interested in fashion, but never knew what to do with it. And that’s how Fred Rongo got started!
2. Where do you find inspiration for all your awesome outfit posts?
Pinterest mostly! I like to combine a lot of things I see on there.

3. Any tips on blogging? How did you gain so many followers?
Be consistent! Make sure you’re making posts and interacting with your readers; asking questions, having giveaways, etc.. Another tip is networking. Networking is huge! Branch out to other bloggers, comment, collaborate, & go to blogger events. And don’t be afraid to ask bigger bloggers for help! And one last thing. Remember to be patient. Growing your blog doesn't happen over night! You're blogging because you love it, not because you're trying to gain followers. Don't forget that!
4. Who are your favorite bloggers/blogs to follow?
My all time favorite is The Sartorialist! Scott Schuman has always been a big inspiration.. My favorite style blogger is Hello, it’s Valentine. She is absolutely adorable and has the best clothes! I hope to aspire to her level of recognition someday.
5. What are your favorite posts to do?
Outfit posts! Especially ones with lots of color.
and now for a few random questions:

6. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you travel?
New Zealand! I would love to go spear fishing. Haha.
7. What are your top three favorite pieces in your closet?
Anything with sequins, anything with leopard print, and with Winter here, my plaid coat!
8. What's your favorite hairstyle you've done?
Hmm.. This is a tough one. Considering I’ve done SO many different hairstyles! I can’t keep the same hair for more than 6 months, usually. Haha. But if I had to choose, I’d probably say when I had short blonde hair!
9. Speak any other languages?
No, I wish! I’ve been listening to French lessons in my car everyday though. I’d love to learn how to speak it fluently!
10. If you could have dinner with any celebrity who would it be?
Christoph Waltz. Well, because, duh. YUM.

Thanks so much Kalee!
