Tip #1: Find the cutest nearby coffee shop to seek shelter, proceed to take photos of your bomb outfit to pass time while drinking an iced chai because even though it's rainy, it's still hot as Hades.

Tip #2: See tip #1, for that is all that is relevant.

Hey guys!!! It's been a while since I have done an actual non sponsored, plain ol', plain ol' outfit post. Today I'm taking it back to my roots! Which, of course, I love. I spent Saturday with my other fellow blogger gal Stephanie of the blog She Saw Style which, as always, you should totally check out, she is a one of a kind gem! The day was great, we shot two outfits, dodged the rain, and totally caught up on all things blogging, instagram, and of course, her wedding! She is getting married this fall and I'm SO excited for her! No but seriously, Steph and I could talk analytics for hours... it's dangerous.

In other news... how KILLER is this outfit!? Sorry none of the stuff is really linkable, I am kinda shady like that, I know, I know. But SERIOUSLY! I am all about a statement sleeve lately, and absolutely love how it has a high-low hem, something that was so in about six years ago and is making a bit of a comeback. It's perfect for the front only tuck. As are polka dots and loafer-type shoes!! I'm just head to toe in trends in these pics and to say I look great would be an understatement. Modest I know, confidence is what really sells the outfit though, right?

What hot trends are you loving lately? xo, O

GOING PINK WITH IMMORTAL BELOVED

HEY GUYS!! This past week I did something that I have wanted to do for who knows how long, I went PINK! Thanks to the WONDERFUL Beth and Drew at Immortal Beloved Salon here in Richmond, they also have a salon in Washington, DC if you are interested!
So let's get into it!
As most of you know, I have had my hair bleached for almost a year, I did it myself and damaged it myself. My hair is not as brittle as you may expect with bleached hair, yet it was quite dead. Drew was able to give me some tips though on how to bring it back to life.
The process began with touching up my roots, and making me all bleached all over.
Next up was the COLOR! My favorite part! I had some inspiration pics picked out and decided that we wanted to do all over pink with different tones and hues. Drew was the color master, he mixed all of these colors himself and they turned out so lovely.
Also, you can see in these photos how BEAUTIFUL the salon is. It is spacious and bright with lots of plants and room for clients! I loved the atmosphere, when we first came in we were offered various drinks, the employees really make sure we were comfortable which was so nice.
After the color was finished processing it was time for a trim! I didn't want to take off too much length so the majority of the cut was just thinning and layering. Beth is the queen of cut, she did an excellent job! Seriously you guys, she is the sweetest, and does a really fantastic job! My hair feels so much lighter and healthier after her cut :)
And finally the styling! Because what's a new do if you can't glam up and show it off! Beth did lose curls and braids for some photos.
I absolutely LOVE my new hair. It is so much fun, literally my personality on my head, what's better than that!?
A HUGE thank you to Beth and Drew. Beth did my cut and Drew was the mastermind behind the coloring! I couldn't be happier :)

Follow them on instagram to see their work!

Hey guys! Today I'm talking to you a little bit about what it's like to live away from home. If you've been following me for a while now, you'd know that although I'm from Virginia, I go to school in Georgia, and in about a month, Hong Kong! Sometimes living so far away (and even further soon) can be difficult. Home is a safe place; a place I know and trust. Home is where I can be comfortable being lazy, watching movies all night long with my family, eating pasta every day, hanging out with my best friends 24/7, home is good. Meanwhile at school, yes I do have a lot of fun, for the most part it's work, work, work, work! Especially during midterms, here at school everyone is under high stress, and really only craving one thing: home.

One thing that makes me feel a little closer to home? My Home T. The Home T is a brand that let's you rep your home with pride, no matter how far away you are. With all sorts of items from mugs to tees, The Home T's got you covered when it comes to making you feel right at home wherever you are.

So no matter who you are, where you are or where you're going, get yourself a Home T to feel a little bit closer to home.

Also! A great conversation starter, you'd be surprised how many people ask me where in VA I'm from, saying they have family there, or they grew up there. Sometimes you don't realize you have family all around you until you show it off.

Hey! Hope y'all are feeling wonderful this fine Monday night! I know I sure am... today was a productive day for me, one of the first days in a while I've been off from work, and I actually got a lot done! My favorite part? Finally getting a holiday outfit post in!! I have yet to do any kind of holiday look and Christmas is practically tomorrow... what's with that!? To be completely honest, I've just been so busy, I have this new job, I've been catching up with friends, and just all around a been busy being a busy bee. It's hard to shoot photos when the sun sets at 4:45pm and I don't get off work until 6:15pm, ya know? BUT! I was beyond grateful Saunders could come out with me today to shoot this look because 1. I missed shooting, and 2. HOW ADORABLE!
I saw this skirt the other day in Target and I couldn't get it off my mind, so I wen't back and I had to get it!! If it's not the cutest, most festive little thing you've ever seen I don't know what is! I love that the star trend has been back for a while now, and I'm really hoping it's here to stay because it seriously brings a festive vibe into anything and everything I do! I dig it.

And these BOOTS?! Don't even get me started on my love for sock booties... because the love is real, it's there, it's tangible, and I'm ready for the sock boot trend to stay forEVER, I'm HERE FOR IT!
To wrap things up... (wrap like a present, cause I'm sitting next to the presents, get it? good.) I realize Christmas is very soon, but seriously get excited for some fun Christmas related posts coming your way before the holiday!

Also don't forget, I'm doing Twelve Days of Vlogmas over on my YouTube channel, so if you haven't already subscribed I would really appreciate if you did!! I'm having a lot of fun creating videos, so please, feel free to check it out! See y'all tomorrow with a special DIY! Lots of love, xo, O

FLOWERS, FRIENDS, AND FOOD

Ah Yes... the three most essential Fs in life, Flowers, Friends and Food. Honestly though, all I need in life if good company, good food, and nature.

Hey hey, happy Saturday (late Saturday, early Sunday) I hope y'all had a fabulous week, and an even better weekend!! This week was busy, busy, BUSY for me! Full with tiring shifts, and homework, yet also full of adventures with friends new and old!
This is somewhat of a Richmond Spotlight, celebrating both the ever so amazing Elizabeth, and my neighborhood juice bar, North End Juice Co. They specialize in doing juices, and various types of bowls. Naturally, Elizabeth and I got smoothie bowls, which were fruity and fantastic! And right around the corner was this beautiful floral mural, which totally set the tone for the sunshine-y day we had together! Elizabeth is such a great friend, I love how even though we haven't seen each other in a while we can pick up right where we left off :)

My goal for you this week is to reconnect with an old friend, and find a few simple things that make you happy in your life. xo, O

North End Juice Co. is located on 718 N. Cleveland St. Richmond, VA 23220
open Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4:30pm
