HEY BABES! How are you!? Hope you're stellar! I AM! I am officially FINISHED with finals! Annnndddd yet somehow I am still awake at 1 am procrastinating, but procrastinating on what even? Sleep?! Now that's just crazy... I should get on it. But first, these photos! I had so much fun recently with my friend Taylor  creating these color coded photos. I've wanted to do something like this for so long, and LOVE how the photos turned out!

As I go into trying to blog more and be more active here on all my social platforms I want to ask you what type of content you prefer, more editorial photoshooty types of photos, or just everyday quick outfit of the day type styling photos? I have a poll on my Instagram story right now, let me know what you think!!

Okay, and until then, I've got to get some sleep... Have a big weekend of moving out ahead of me! xo, O

A Note to my Future Self

suit- Adore Me // glasses- Oui Fresh // earrings- Bershka

Good morning! This is it, I am in the final stretch. Today I took one last exam, and completed two other final presentations, I still have one more presentation and a few papers to write. Needless to say I am exhausted, I was working in my room today after class and I just fell asleep at my desk, right there, right in the middle of working. I've forced myself out of the house in attempts to hold myself accountable of staying awake by being in a public place. And what do I decide to do? Procrastinate by blogging... lol what else is new...

These photos I took the other weekend with my friend Cassie at the cutest hotel here in Savannah, The Perry Lane. It's seriously the BEST! More photos coming soon! Looking at these I want NOTHING more to really be that girl in the pool, relaxing, sipping a "I don't care what it is, can you just make it cute?" drink poolside. SOON! So so soon will I be able to relax like this. I just have to get through the madness of finals, the madness of St. Patrick's Day, the madness of moving out of my apartment and packing up for France, traveling all around, and THEN relaxation.

So dear me, be patient, good things are coming. Soon, SO soon.
Until then, I'll keep hustling, working hard, embrace the sleepless nights and get it DONE! Until then, xo, O

Winding Down and Looking Forward

Wednesday, March 6, 2019

Good Morning!
Let's get right to it. Right now I am going through a transitional point in my life. I have spent the last quarter on my own, on a personal growth journey! Single! Or well sort of single, but not really because I was seeing someone one... So not single at all? It's a thing? It's casual? It is what it is... whatever it is and or was.

Okay so scratch all of that. This last quarter I have spent tied down by my own emotions, wrapped up in the grasp of others, people I desired to pursue romantically, platonically, and everything else in between. I realized, I haven't spent anytime, really at all since freshman year of high school, not putting others needs before my own.

So sure, maybe I wasn't in any kind of committed relationship for the last three months, but I have been committed to everyone but myself.

Problematic.
I just got off the phone with my mom talking about someone in my life who is constantly asking so much of me, I give and give and give, and get nothing back. She told me to completely drop what I was doing (trying to gather something to compensate for a wrongdoing I did not wrong do) and walk away. She told me that it's not about them but about me, I need to put myself first and recognize that I let toxic people into my life, just for them to walk all over me because I feel like I need to meet their needs and make sure they are happy.

But what about me?
In 15 days I'll haul an overpacked suitcase and my horribly unrecognizable passport with me to Italy, where I will spend a week, and then to Lacoste, France where I will live until summer.

In 15 days I'll leave everything toxic, everything weighing me down, and everything that makes me feel less than I am in the US.

In 15 days I'll vow to put myself first, take in every little thing, spoil myself with rich experience, culture, and a new life.
No I won't change who I am, but I will grow. You can't put a timestamp on personal growth, but I believe that the next three months will be much more progressive in my journey than the last have been.

No longer am I willing to hide behind a veil of happiness pretending I am fine and that everything is okay in my world to satisfy others when they are less than so. I value myself as a support system for others of course, but I need to focus on me.
No more bending at the will of the first boy that bats an eye at me.
No more confusing attention of affection.
No more changing plans.
No more dropping everything for someone who I know won't be there to pick it up later.
No more sleepless nights working on things I didn't get to before because I spent so much time in other peoples lives.

I'm ready to flourish in fields of wild flowers in France, eating croissants, wearing ascots, holding whicker baskets... I'm ready to live for the clichés, I'm ready to live for me.

Counting down the days.
Xo, O

Social Media Setbacks and Stress

Monday, February 4, 2019

Hi.
Below is a quick rant on how I'm feeling regarding social media.
It is time consuming and I want out, but at the same time I love it.
Enjoy:

Here's the thing. I've been on social media a little over seven years. At first it was all for fun and games, a few years passed and I had gained some success, but honestly now I am at a total stand still.

I have been so busy with school and with the stress of trying to gain social media momentum when nothing is going annnyyywhereeee, I'm thinking what's the point?
Every year I have done a little segment called "The Birthday Chronicles" where I have made a birthday bucket list and posted everyday of me doing those things. This year that just didn't happen. I have been on and off of Instagram in the past few weeks as well.

There are pros and cons to this.

Pros being that I don't spend as much time mindlessly scrolling when I am bettering my time and that I like not being on my phone as much.

Cons? SO many unfortunate cons.

1. I'm constantly missing important messages that I need about photoshoot opportunities, monetized work related things, etc.
2. My engagement is going downnnnn, which obviously isn't ideal
3. This is my job, my instagram is my brand, my blog is my job, you get it. But if I don't put in the work how am I going to get anywhere?
It's a constant cycle of just being screwed. I try, I really do, I do all the things that the business influencers say, I really try it all. And yet I get nowhere!

At this point it is a career question. Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life? Do I need to highly maintain this platform in order to even get the career I desire?!

I'm taking a business of marketing class right now, and it's nothing but stress. Stressers include but are not limited to: how you have to be consistent, post everyday, have a super active social media presence, have the perfect business cards that will lead clients to the perfect website with a zillion other perfect social platforms.

When does it end? Is my social media presence not enough? Will I ever get hired? Why can't I just delete Instagram and live at peace with that and still get hired at the best summer internship in New York leading me to the best of the best career after I graduate?!
This is a rant. Obviously.

Who knows who will or will not see this, as it is my numbers are dropping so rapidly, where in the mix do I even care anymore? Oh right, because social media, my blog, youtube, instagram and all that is what I'm passionate about and what I love to do... right.

To whomever said, "Do what you love, then you'll never work a day in your life." That is a lie, I work and I work hard. It's frustrating, time consuming and draining, do I love it though? yes.

That's all for now.
Do you find yourself struggling to find the healthy balance of social media?

Dress- ASOS // Skirt- ASOS // glasses- Thrifted

Happy Friday! I'm super excited to share these photos with you guys. I have been passing this carwash every day for the last few weeks, since I noticed it I KNEW I had to do a shoot there. It was such a bright yellow and I loved the texture of the walls. Not only did I want to take photos there, but I wanted them to be kind of funky. More editorial-esque than just a regular #ootd.

When Ally came over to go shoot and I showed her this outfit her reaction was some kind of laugh and, "okay? what?" I guess she wasn't expecting the puffy skirt to be over the dress rather than under. But I was in the mood for something different.

Not much else of a life update to share, I'm just super happy with these photos, I really hope you love them like I do! I'm obsessed with the bright colors and movement in every one!! What do you think? Do you like more fun outfits and playful shoots, or classic ootd posts? Let me know! xo, O

p.s. fun fact: in the photos where I am in front of the wall with the holes, I am actually standing on a very small edge, in unsteady heels holding on for dear life through the wall! Ally stood below me to get each shot!

top- Brandy Melville // bodysuit- Target // shoes- Miz Mooz

Hello from the pit of finals week! Currently I'm listening to Kali Uchis procrastinating my butt off while I really, seriously have WAY too much work to do before tomorrow. I recently picked up a minor in Fibers, which don't get me wrong it's so much fun, but it is just SO MUCH WORK! It's all good y'all (or at least that's the lie I'm telling myself when maybe I should be worrying...) After tomorrow I'll officially be on break, which I'm so excited for, even though it will be me scurrying around packing and panicking doing everything for Hong Kong last minute... Again, it's all good...

This past weekend, which feels like years ago, I got together with Austin Anderson (@austinwho on instagram) who's actually from Memphis, TN but just visiting for his spring break. The morning we shot this it was early early early, and oh so freezing, we made it work though.

Anyway, this post is mainly just to show off these photos, I really should be getting back to work...
I'll be honest though, I may be somewhat absent until I'm in Hong Kong due to the stress of finals, packing up, lots of traveling and such. I know myself and I know that in the moments when I am free, I'll want to just spend time with family or slugging around enjoying the sweet sweet luxury of being lazy that I haven't felt in months!!
I'll see y'all when I see y'all! xoxo, O
