Graduation Gift Ideas!!

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

HEY! Happy graduation season everyone! At SCAD we are on the quarter system and actually graduate pretty late, so I guess this is a little belated, but that's okay! Better late than never! Also I'm still in school and I know plenty of high schools are too! SO without further ado, A GRADUATION GIFT GUIDE!!

I know a lot of times we think money, travel, fancy things, but honestly NO one is traveling these days (or at least I hope you aren't... im watching you) and yes money is pretty great, but it's not super fun to open! So I came up with ten things that personally I think would be great grad gifts! Let's get started :-)

Also this is my first time ever doing one of these illustration things on a tablet and WOW it was kinda hard! But so much fun! I can't wait to make more!

1. Something to Remember their College Town- (or hometown if in high school and going off to college obvi) I have worked with Mapiful in the past and really love their stuff! They make some seriously high quality memorable things, you can make any map! So even if you live in the worlds tiniest town, they can make it! Their posters are so cool and are super great decor. I really love this as a gift!

2. A Camera- graduating is a huge milestone and often means the start of some great new adventures, adventures that deserve to be documented!! So of course a full on DSLR can be kinda pricey, but film cameras have made a TOTAL comeback and are super cheap! I recommend getting a basic digital point and shoot film camera, that way it's more sustainable than a disposable camera, and just as fun!! This site is great for cameras and film at a lower price

3. The Defining Decade- So this is actually a shot in the dark from me because I haven't read it, BUT! I do have it and plan to dive in very soon, and I've seen it over and over again on recommended lists and what not. Apparently it's the perfect book for every grad. Buy it here!

4. A Meal Delivery Kit- Okay, okay, I had never really been one to use meal kits or get the hype until my last two boyfriends who both got them (hey guys, thanks for all the good food) and they were AMAZING! It was perfect for us because we were always so busy with school, as I would assume any young professional would be too! The food is SO good, most kits give you everything in the exact measurements you need and 100% recyclable packaging, it's amazing. This is a seriously good gift for someone moving to a new city or living on their own dime for the first time, maybe no longer on a meal plan or something, eating out adds up! Some of my favorites are Hello Fresh, Green Chef, Sun Basket, and Dinnerly

5. Graduation in a Jar- I think this is just the cutest idea. We are in such a weird time and most likely, our celebrations aren't going to be how we imagined. Friends and family can't be with us, if you have a grad that you sadly can celebrate with in person due to quarantine, sending a graduation in a jar is SUCH a fun way to celebrate with them without being with them. So in the drawing I added a mini champagne bottle, some money rolled up, a confetti popper and lots of confetti. Obviously you can add anything, the more the merrier!

6. License Plate Cover- Driving off to college or a new city on your own for the first time? Let the road know you mean business! Every road trip mobile deserves some cool swag of its own, whether its a fun license plate cover, bumper stickers, or a steering wheel cover, if your grad is literally going places, get something to make the journey a little more fun! These ones are fun! 1, 2, 3

7. Send Something Sweet- I saw an add from Baked by Melissa yesterday of mail to order mini cupcakes that said to brighten someones day during this weird time. I absolutely LOVED that idea! I know there are SO many bakeries that mail sweet treats, some of my favorites are Baked by Melissa, Milk Bar, and Jeni's ice cream. This is such a nice way to tell someone that you're thinking of them. Especially something like mini cupcakes, it's a whole party and you can never have too many! A fun way to celebrate remotely.

8. Electronic Sleeve- Working from home or just going to class I've never had an issue with protecting my laptop, but now that I'm a WORKING WOMAN I'm going to be out and about and I want to make sure all of my things stay safe! I just got a Wacom tablet (what I used to draw these!) and its already scratched up! It's been like three days! I really need a cover for it! This is great for anyone with a commute who has to bring things like tablets, laptops, iPads and what not too and from work. I love these ones! 1, 2, 3

9. A Home Goods Gift Card- so not HomeGoods specifically, but a gift card for a store that sells things for a new home, apartment, dorm, whatever! Most of us grads will be moving out soon, and don't have anything to decorate our new places with since we've been living out of dorms forever! This is such a great gift! I like to shop sustainably, so some places I like are The Little Market, The Citizenry and Package Free Shop

10. Personalized Business Card Holder + Business Cards- Let me start off by saying business cards are NOT old fashioned! I have LOVED giving out business cards over the years and have made some real connections! Also they are essential for interviews, also who knows, coffee shop raffles too because who doesn't want to win an unexpected latte? There are a bunch of good places on Etsy where you can get someone a monogrammed card holder and ordering them is easy too! I think if you are going to give someone the holder, you should probably offer to pay for the cards if they don't already have them too... Here are some cute ones to personalize! 1, 2, 3

And that's it! I hope some of these were helpful! Congrats Grads!! :-)

HAPPY (almost) NEW YEAR!! Only hours now until it's officially officially 2018. How crazy is that?! So much is going to be happening in my world in 2018, but hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Let's look back on 2017 and all the highs of the year! Yes okay, there were highs and lows, but right now we are just going to focus on the highest of highs! Let's get into it :)
Back in Savannah

After ringing in the new year at a questionably fun party in the middle of nowhere Virginia with my friends, the celebration didn't really start until I shortly there after went back to Sunny Savannah to start my second quarter of my freshman year. It was a good quarter! I made lots of friends, memories, had some stellar classes, and did lots of fun photoshoots. Overall it was a great time.
Woman's March on Savannah

I marched in the Woman's March! Well in Savannah, I WISH I could have gone to Washington, but alas... The March on Savannah was honestly so moving and special though. I am SO glad I marched. I've honestly gone to as many protests and marches that I could have in Savannah and it is seriously so important y'all, let your voices be heard in 2018!!
I'm Nineteen!

I turned nineteen! Which was cool I guess! One more spin around the sun for me! Woohoo! (Can you believe I'll be 20 this year though?! Now that's wild to me!)
Seeing Red

I started getting more involved in photoshoots and collaborative projects with other students around SCAD. Pretty nifty! I got t to start collecting some model shots for a portfolio!
Ally in Savannah

Ally came and visited me in Savannah for the first time and we had an absolute BLAST! I'm so BEYOND lucky to have a best friend as special and fun as Ally. Seriously y'all, you should be jealous.
Intro to Fashion Design Final Project Video

I created a BUNCH of cool things in my classes freshman year. Things that I was and still am super proud of! One of my favorite things about SCAD is that 99% of the time projects that I do are projects that I absolutely LOVE! So to SCAD, thanks for keeping me active and constantly creating fun exciting things.
Postcards From Nags Head

I had the most fun during our annual family beach trip to Nags Head, North Carolina. Every year everyone gets together and we have the BEST time ever. I can't wait to see what's in store for this years beach week... Shenanigans for SURE
New York Bogs

Towards the end of the summer I quit my job, hopped on a bus and went to New York City!! Best decision ever. No joke this was the best week of my life.
Follow Me on Instagram!

Flash forward to September! I headed back to school with my expectations VERY low. Let's just say the end of Freshman year was not too great, so naturally, I was nervous to start a new year. BUT boy was I wrong. I had the BEST quarter yet!! I made my now best friends, and just had so SO much fun this past quarter, I can't imagine myself at any other school. I'm exactly where I need to be!
Meet Matt

Oh yeah! I totally fell in love with a new guy this year and like a lot of the other things in this post, I seriously could not be happier!! We've been dating for four months now and every day is so much fun when I'm by Matt's side. (heheh cheesy but TRUE)
 Teen Vogue Summit Day One

I traveled to Los Angeles, California for my first ever and THE first ever Teen Vogue Summit! I met the most inspired, passionate, supportive girls and femmes and am so excited to see what we all do to create, innovate and mack change in this world! Watch out 2018, we're coming for you!

After a great Christmas the celebration wasn't over yet... My blog turned SIX!! This was huge for me y'all. I'm so proud of all that I've done and what had come from All Those Little Things. It makes me SO happy to be able to bring readers like YOU inspiration, joy, advice or whatever every day. Seriously you guys, I am so so happy, I love what I do.

On that note, I cannot wait for another year of all this. Blogging, adventuring, creating, innovating, exploring and SO MUCH MORE! Thanks for sticking with me.

See ya next year ;) xo, O

HELLO and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
It's that time of year, the most wonderful time of year! HOLIDAY TIME!! Whether it's for Christmas, Hanukkah, or you're just in the gift giving mood, it's present season!! What a better way to kick off the season here with a cheap and easy gift guide. Nothing is better than a stress free holiday, so get your gifts soon to eliminate any last minute stress... because no one needs that this time of year!!

These are all gifts under $15, so they are pretty affordable. Honestly it's hard to find good things online from reputable stores that are super duper cheap. But I thought you know what, some of these could be stocking stuffers, some stand alone gifts! Everything here I know I would love for sure, and if you're here and you're anything like me, I'm sure you will too :)

Let's get into it then! Happy shopping and happy holidays!! xo, O
For the plant lover- Urban Outfitters $12
These mini wall planters are PERFECT for anyone who loves plants. I love hanging plants, but a lot of the time struggle to find a place to put them where they get enough light, so what's better than a planter you can hang on the window! Sun loving plants and plant loving people are sure to love this cheap gift.
For the one with the sweet tooth- Shop Studio DIY $1 sale, $7.99
Got someone in your life who loves collecting patches and who also loves cake? I mean who doesn't love cake.....?? This patch is cute, fun, and fabulous! What's not to love?! Now who's got the cake? I'm hungry.
For the candle lover- Amazon $14.50
I have burnt through a few of these Capri Blue Volcano candles and let me tell you, they are the best smelling candles I've ever had. You've probably seen them at stores like Anthropologie and Altr'd State, but I could only find it under $15 on Amazon. I'm serious though, if you don't get this for a friend, treat yourself, it's worth it and so are you.
For the beauty guru- Glossier $14
When I was in New York a bit ago I went to the Glossier showroom and tried this lip gloss, it truly is the glossiest. I personally don't own any Glossier products, but everyone I know who does loves it and swears by it, it's fantastic!! Do your beauty loving friend a favor and get them this gloss so all their high gloss dreams can finally come true!!
For the festival bound- Forever 21 $7.90
If hair glitter isn't the coolest, trendiest new thing for festivals I don't know what is. Forget the flower crowns and the hair chalk, this hair glitter will spice up anyones look in seconds!! I may even get myself some it's just that cool.
For the jewelry lover- Anthropologie $8
How CUTE! I have a friend that these would be perfect for! We all have that accessory lovin' friend, but nothing is worse than loosing a ring!! Never let it happen again with these adorable little guys around. Honestly, how delightful would it be for nail salons to have these at their stations for peoples rings! I've left my rings at the nail salon one too many times...
For literally anyone who ever shops for anything- Beehive $15 for 15% off use code YOURECUTE
I never leave the house without reusable bags when running errands, grocery shopping or personal shopping, I hate to waste paper bags and don't even get me started on plastic bags! Reduce waste with this super chic reusable bag!! And better yet, use my code YOURECUTE for 15% off :)
This is actually super important! Please be a conscious shopper! Especially this season when shopping is at an all time high, your planet is begging you!!
For the party girl- ModCloth $9
You know a gift is good when it can roll into the new year and be used over and over again. This ultra cool bottle topper is the perfect gift for anyone throwing a NYE party! Going to a party and bringing wine? Make it a more personal and unique gift by adding a bottle topper! ModCloth has a few good ones, this was just my favorite for the holidays :)
For the working girl- Paper Source $2
The perfect desk calendar. It's easy to read, and makes scheduling fun! Coolest part about it? It's all one sheet! Like an accordion, it folds out, this way you'll never loose a sheet!
For the instaqueen- Ban.do $10
Last but not least... any instaloving gal knows that this is an instafamous prop! Ban.do is perfect for anyone looking for props to turn their instagrams into instaglams! Trust me on this one, not only does this disco ball tumbler make any drink a party, but it'll be adorable sitting on any shelf as a knick knack.

TEN THINGS TUESDAY 12- HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Tuesday, October 31, 2017

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays, that and Valentine's Day, and Christmas of course, but not counting Christmas, it's always either Halloween or Valentine's Day... Anyway, since today is Halloween AND Ten Things Tuesday, I thought I would do a Halloween round up, sharing some of my favorite Halloween costumes, DIYs, movies, and foods!! I know obviously it's technically too late to do these, but it's more just in the spirit of Halloween :)
Enjoy! I hope your Halloween was spooktacular!

COSTUMES:
1Rock Candy
Of course I had to start off the costumes portion with a Studio DIY costume, and this rock candy costume absolutely stole my heart away when I first saw it!! 100% my favorite, SO original and fun!
2. Burrito with Guac
This easy last minute costume from AwwSam is too cute for words, and with experience working at chipotle and having to say "Guac is extra is that okay" 15,00000000000 times a day, I respect all those who say up front that they know...
3. Dollar Store DIY Costumes (especially Lemonade)
I've been a follower of With Wendy on Youtube for forever, she makes clothes and does other cute DIYs and is so totally awesome. This video is actually from last year, and not even from her channel, but it was too iconic to not add in this years round up.
Okay... So I couldn't get away with not sharing another Studio DIY costume... but you guys, HOW CAN YOU RESIST BABY ARLO!!! Literally the cutest baby I've ever seen, and in a cactus costume?! I mean... come on. Kelly always comes up with the best costume ideas, and just DIY ideas in general, highly recommend checking out her blog.

DIYs:
5. Skull String Art
An A Beautiful Mess classic DIY. String art is actually so much easier than it seems and way cheap. Totally recommend this for any DIY! I've made them before saying words, doing hearts, and all sorts of other shapes. Try it!!
This year when carving pumpkins I just went for the classic jack-o-lantern smile, but I so so so love how creative some people are getting with pumpkin decorating these days! It's not just about carving anymore y'all!

MOVIES: The links I have below are to the movies on Netflix, not sure if it will work since I'm signed into my account, but it you have Netflix, hopefully it does!!!
7. Coraline
I first saw Coraline in 8th grade and remember being thoroughly freaked out. It's creepy, and spooky, and so clever and interesting all at the same time. It's the perfect Halloween movie if you aren't into horror or anything too ridiculous like that.
So this can either be a Halloween or Christmas movie, and it's just that good that watching it twice a year is completely acceptable, I know we have in my house at least!! This musical is so much fun and funny. 10/10 would recommend.

FOOD:
9. Mummy Pumpkin Truffles
Ahhh yes, the food category, my favorite. How CUTE are these little mummy dudes?! They're almost too cute to eat (but not really) And better yet, they're pumpkin cheesecake truffles on the inside, omg I'm salivating just thinking about it!!!
10. Ghostly Pizzas!
On Halloween we practically overdose on sweets, so it's nice to have a savory snack to break that up! These ghost pizzas are perfect for that! Because who doesn't love pizza, and who doesn't love SPOOKY PIZZA?!?!? Crazy people I guess...

That wraps up this weeks Ten Things Tuesday!! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! Now here's to looking forward to Thanksgiving! What are your favorite Thanksgiving memories? xo, O

Ten Things Tuesday- September Faves

Tuesday, October 3, 2017

Happy Tuesday!! As I'm writing this I'm sitting in my bed, with the lights off, wondering how the heck I'm going to be able to blog everyday. Everyday I get swamped with new assignments and a heavier work load, honestly it's crazy...

BUT! I'm here, and I'm READY to share with you my ten things for this week, and in honor of the new month, I thought I'd look back on September and give you my top ten September faves!

So what are you waiting for? Let's get into this!!
1. Curly Bangs
Before I get that text from my best friend Ally saying, "DO NOT CUT BANGS" when she reads this, please note that I am not cutting bangs any time soon, or ever again... BUT I am obsessed with the look of a short hair cut with curly top bangs, it's soooo flirty and fun.
2. Confetti Balloons
Just you wait... I've purchased some on Etsy, it's all happening... get excited.

3. The Diplomat
I plan on going and doing a full Savannah Spotlight on this spot, but until then... It's a tiny lil sandwich shop that just opened two weeks ago and I kid you NOT has the best avocado toast ever. I never thought I'd be into the combination of pickled radishes, dill, and pumpkin seeds... but oh man, oh man oh man it's delicious. More to come on that soon.
4. Old Photos
I was recently stalking my mom on Facebook (hi mama) as one does... and I never realized how many cute old photos she had on there of my siblings and me when we were young! It's funny because I didn't even know this photo existed, yet once seeing it I'm taken back to that exact moment at the beach. I love that!
5. Starry Eyes
Stars have been very trendy lately, and for a good reason, they are stellar! I want to get permanent star makeup installed on my face so I always shine... Seems legit, right?

6. Lucy Moon's 168 Hours
Lucy Moon is the oh so adorable, very British Youtuber who sometimes vlogs here and there, and let me tell you, they are my favorite. I really just love her so much, and then her edits and everything, it's great. Give her a watch for sure.
7. My Dorm
A few weeks ago I moved into a new dorm with a complete stranger and a closed mind. But after almost three weeks of living here, lemme update you: I absolutely LOVE living here. I live in Oglethorpe House, which is SO centrally located, my roommate is super duper nice and everything is fabulous! Everything seriously worked out for the best :)

8. Yellow for Fall
I've always loved yellow, so naturally I'm LOVING the yellow for fall trend that's happening right now. Above are links to some yellow pieces I'm currently coveting, shop your lil heart out!! Yellow is IN!
9. My New Kicks
I got these shoes right before I went off to school and I'm seriously in LOVE! I get so many complements on them whenever I wear em out. You can't really tell in this photo, but they are SPARKLY! Like seriously so sparkly, the perfect personality shoe (is that even a thing? well it is now)

10. Lana Del Rey
If you know me, you know I've always been a lil obsessed with my mama Lana. WELL! Earlier this week tickets for her 2018 US tour went on sale, so naturally I'd been listening to her new and old albums and everything else in between, leading up to the sale and then ever since then, and totally jiving. And yes, I DID get tickets to see her and I'm beyOND EXCITED!!!!!!

***

Alright kookie cats, that pretty much sums up everything I've been into this month! I'll see y'all tomorrow with a GIVEAWAY!! So stay tuned... you know you're going to want this one... I'm sure of it! Until then chickies, sleep well! xo, O
