BACK TO SCHOOL INTENTIONS

Wednesday, August 28, 2019

All clothes from Tori Radday's Depop

How?! HOW is it that TOMORROW I drive down to Savannah to begin my senior year?! In one bound to fly by week, I will be waking up early to embark on my LAST first day of school, like, ever. That is if I don't completely fail out of SCAD at the last possible moment, yikes, that would be bad. Let's not put that out into the universe, okay? Okay.

OKAY! so, senior year.
Holy crapola. Even though I still have a week or so before classes actually start, I thought it would be good to set some back to school intentions to start the year off with the right foot forward, no not the left foot, the right one, of course... Let's begin!
1. IT'S OKAY TO SAY NO after my freshman year I told myself to say, "yes" to everything. The result of that? Making lots of new friends, connections, and having cool and different experiences, the real outcome? Total burnout. I even made a video about it. Do I agree with that now? No.

I genuinely need to learn how to say, "no" to people. More often than not I find myself spreading myself MUCH too thin for the sake of others. I already know I am going to be busy, I need to... (transition)

2. PUT MYSELF FIRST going off of my last intention, I need to put myself first, seriously! My grades, health, both mental and physical, happiness come FIRST this year! I need to quit pulling so many all nighters, I need to begin taking steps back when self care is necessary. Speaking of, it's currently 3am and my eyelids feel like they have weights on them, SLEEP!
3. GROWTH IS NOT LINEAR I am prepared for this year to be full of ups and downs. I know I am aiming towards to goal of graduation in the spring and job in the summer to kick off my future career. But I need to remind myself that the path towards that will not be a straight new paved road, but perhaps a rocky passageway through a shaded wood, something more mysterious and dangerous, what's life without a little bit of danger, right? It may take a lot to get to where I'm going but I know that I will eventually wind up where I am meant to be.

4. APPLY YOURSELF And with that, I want to do everything I can to achieve my goals. I want to really push myself forward to creating the best work I can this year, being my best self, and making sure I am doing all that I can to get to where I want to be. With out pushing myself too hard of course...
Okay, now I really need to get packing. Let's get this thing going! Here's to new opportunities, new experiences, adventures, joys, highs and lows, and GROWTH! I could not be more excited for this journey to begin. I want to enjoy every last minute, and I want you to enjoy it with me every step of the way! Here we go! xo, O

Good Morning lovelies! I hope everyone's week has been treating them well so far! I feel like it just started, and yet it is already Wednesday, time is flying by! I will be back in Savannah in no time, that is so crazy to me! I am really looking forward to this year and getting back into the swing of things.

Since going to Hong Kong, it's been forever and a day since I've been at my SCAD home base having a routine and what not. I have a tough quarter set up for me when I get back though, that's for sure. Four classes (we are only supposed to take three), all on the same day, back to back to back to back... Oh man... But! I'm excited! Living in my first ever apartment! With my best friends! In one of my favorite cities! What could be better than that?
In other news, I LOVE this dress. I got it the other day from Goodwill, on National Thrifting Day actually! And ya know what? I made a video all about it too! Watch it!
Huge thanks, as always to my blogger bff Stephanie for taking these photos of me in a greenhouse! I've always wanted to shoot in a greenhouse, so when she suggested it I was SOLD! Don't you just love these photos? Where should I shoot next? xo, O

Jump In

I realize that I already have a post titled this, however I couldn't resist seeing as I'm wearing my all time favorite jumper. Literally, what is better than a denim jumper? NOTHING. My entire outfit in this is vintage and I dig it a lot. Nothing really fits, but that's one of the best parts, it's all so loose. It's me attempting to play with proportions like all the magazines say to do these days. Also, I have big plans for these shoes in the near future, so stay tuned.....

It's Thursday. Nothing is really up in my life, just that I should be hearing from colleges pretty soon, at the moment I'm just in the middle, waiting. Am I in or am I out? I just wanna know, NOW! Ugh... I have big plans for the future, how am I supposed to follow them if I don't know what my next step will be? Come on colleges... Get back to me! Please?

Good Morning my little angelbabies! This is what I wore yesterday to school and I thought I'd share the few pics I took! Today we have a snow day and I am soooo thankful because that gives me 1. time to finish packing stress free,  2. time to finish an essay that's essentially due this afternoon, and 3. time to chillll out. I really needed this snow day. It's some nice time to relax before my trip. Thank you mother nature!!

 +WHERE WE ATE:

To finish off my extremely busy weekend of birthday parties and fashion shows (posts coming soon) ... we ate close to home for brunch, a place called Azzuros. Having been there for dinner many times and loooovvvving their classic Italian, we were excited to try it for brunch! Unfortunatly... it's really a dinner place, brunch wasn't that spectacular. Saunders and I had a tough time deciding what to order, simply because there was so few that was appealing!
If you're thinking about going to Azzuros, dinner or lunch is the time!

I ended up getting a margarita pizza, only because it's all I knew was good, and weirdly was on the brunch menu... However, Papa did enjoy his eggs benedict, Saunders said his pancakes were "okay"
 +WHAT I WORE:
This is one of my FAVORITE thrift finds, this midi dress is timeless, its flowey-flounceyness and deep colors make it perfect for fall. It is so light weight and still a statement! One of my favorites in my closet by far...
These shoes my mother and grandmother bought for me at a local thrift store. Not typically something that I would pick out, but their metallic snakeskin print is TDF! Plus, since they are lace up, like most heals-- you don't have to worry about your heels slipping out or clenching your toes when you walk, they are a perfect fit!
Oh and hey... I chopped off all my hair!
A post about that coming soon!!

Aloha! Once again, I have stolen Ally's clothing... well in all fairness she did take these photos and if it counts for anything I did pick out this Peplum for her at Forever 21.... No matter what I like it a lot, It's one of my favorite shirts she has, you should see it on her, it looks totes fabu! Haha, no but really it does, Ally kills it in a peplum.

This just in... did you know that the word "peplum" is not in the dictionary? Yeah, huh? I thought I was spelling it correctly so I had to look it up and waalaaah, it's not in the dictionary... weird.

This is one of my comfier, cuter outfits I have. You know how most outfits that are super casual and comfy can often tend to turn into what seems to be pajamas? Well this is not the case with this outfit! I love how it is so casual yet cute and a little bit sporty. I do wish however I had a picture of me standing up so you could really see it, trust be it's cute and believe me... it sure is comfy.

+WHAT WE ATE:
This past weekend, it was just Emma and I alone at home. Saunders and my parents went up north for Ders' college orientation! They got home really late tonight and I leave for camp tomorrow! And yes, I repeat, that was not a typo... TOMORROW! Seeing as it is rather late... I do technically leave today, AHH!! I am utterly excited, I cannot sleep!! :D

Anyway, this past Sunday, Emma and I treated ourselves to a brunch at Three Monkeys, a cute little restaurant in The Fan. It was yummy! Although when I went before, it was better then... also I think they changed the menu since I had last been there; what's up with that?! Emma had the eggs benny and I had french toast, you'd think we'd like to mix it up every now and then... huh...
 +WHAT WE WORE:
Right on the outskirts of The Fan and Carytown, the old GRTC Bus Station has been transformed into a bloggers dream, hundreds of murals = hundreds of possible outfit post backdrops! However on Sunday we didn't actually go inside the Bus Station... luckily there are some murals on some of the buildings surrounding it. And even luckier me, my favorite one was recreated on the side of a building seen here!!

Pretty girl, I'm going to miss you when I'm at camp, and you go back to school... xoxolivia.
