HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Okay, so my birthday was Monday, BUT I'm still celebrating!
I actually have been celebrating all week with friends leading up to tomorrow night when I'm throwing my birthday party! It's dancing queen themed and I could not be more excited! We are going to have a disco ball and bell bottoms and EVERYTHING! Cannot wait!

But wow, 21?! How did this happen. I have never been a huge drinker, and technically that's the main milestone when you turn 21, but honestly I've just been equating it to being a real full time adult. Like a why is your room still so messy, stop going to bed at 4am kind of adult! Love that for me. Love the stress that is yet to come with all things adulting!

I am going to post all about my Birthday Chronicles probably tomorrrrrowww... Today I just wanted to share with you 21 things that I am excited about for my year of 21!
champagne pop, girl popping champagne with confetti, confetti, party girl, fashion party,
1. Continuing my self love journey- Because you can never love yourself too much

2. Writing more- Not just journaling, but poems and stories, I used to write all the time and I want to get back into it! I'm at a place in my life where I know I'll want to look back on!

3. Traveling- 20 was a big travel year too with Hong Kong and all, but this year I'm going to Europe for the first time ever and am BEYOND excited to explore over there

4. Moving to France- but specifically, moving to France when I study abroad again this spring. Lacoste, France to be specific!

5. Living with my best friends- I'm already doing this now, yes, but I'm loving every second of it and am excited for it to continue all year long!

6. Dating- Because I'm single for the first time since early high school and it's FUN just meeting new people and seeing where it goes!

7. Getting an internship for sure. For sure.
8. Going to fancy bars and drinking colorful cocktails- I may not be a heavy drinker, the photo above shows that pretty well... But I am a sucker for an aesthetically pleasing cocktail

9. Growing a healthily on social media- I REALLY want to boost my growth this year, but in a non-back breaking, organic way

10. Celebrating all the little things- There is nothing better than getting excited over something seemingly small. So many things in life are worth celebrating!

11. Singing at the top of my lungs- Because what's better than a windows down, music up kind of ride?

12. Making conscious decisions- I am a very go with the flow kind of person, or at least I'm telling myself I am, but I would like to do things more with intentions and be more aware of what it is I am doing.

13. Being a supportive, loving friend- My friends have always been so good to me, and I want to always be there for them no matter what as well. Not that I haven't in the past, it's just something I want to continue to do

14. Biking at sunrise- Because why not?
15. Working on learning a new language- Well technically I took french for 9 years, but I know NOTHING! However I'm working on it so when I do move to France, I'm not going in completely clueless

16. Enjoying valuable family time- Now that we are all getting older this is rare! I want to enjoy every chance I can get

17. Moving into our new house- My parents are FINALLY done with their house renovations and are ready to move in, when I'm home, I'm VERY excited to be living there!

18. Growing my hair out- My impulsive side says otherwise, but we'll see how far I can go

19. Dancing until my feet fall off- Again, because why not?

20. Falling in love over and over and over- With myself, with my world, with my friends, with boys, with everything, because love is the best thing anyone can experience. I'm filling 21 with LOVE!

21. Celebrating ME every chance I get! Because I'm vain and that's okay, I recognize my worth and I want to celebrate that! Three cheers to me!
And that's all folks! I'm SO excited for this year, so many wonderful things await me! Here's to it! Xo, O

BIRTHDAY CHRONICLES 2019

Monday, January 21, 2019

Hello! Today is January 21st, in exactly one week I will be 21!!!!!! WILD! So 18, sure big deal, you're an "adult." 20, yeah, whatever you're like "a little more adult", but TWENTY ONE?! That's like full throttle, no turning back, stop asking for grocery money, get a job why don't you adult!!!

And although I am STILL terrible at money management (can't stop, won't stop buying cookie dough brownies from the coffee shop next to my apartment, sorry not sorrryyyyy) and that whole part of adulting scares the living daylights out of me, I cannot WAIT TO BE A REAL TIME BIG SHOT ADULT!

It's only ONE week away! I don't even like alcohol and don't really drink that much but you better believe I'm going to be drinking some kind of fancy thing and slapping my ID on the table like I own the place. Check it baby, it's legal.
SO! seeing as it's one week out, today is the day we start the iconic BIRTHDAY CHRONICLES!
For those of you who are new around here, I have been doing The Birthday Chronicles ever since I started my blog, basically it is a mini bucket list of some simple, some more exciting things I want to get done, one everyday before my birthday.

I used to do it for my entire birth month, but that was intense, sooooo one week it is!
Let's get into it.
1. INDULGE in cookie dough brownies
2. Explore uncharted territory
3. Wear all the colors of the rainbow
4. Take some out of the box photos
5. Have an AWESOME 21st birthday photoshoot
6. Sing ABBA songs at karaoke
7. Drink a fancy cocktail and get carded! ;-)

LET'S DO THIS! 21 here we COME! xo, O!

HEYO! It's February already. Puxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, there are six more weeks of winter, it's midterms here at SCAD, it's cold, I'm drowning in work, but let's be real, you already knew all of that, nothing is new. Honestly though, it is somewhat hard to believe that it is already February. Every quarter here at SCAD midterms sort of pop up out of nowhere and then all of a sudden the quarter is OVER! Time flies. The fact that we are already half way through this quarter, that I am that much closer to Hong Kong, blows my mind. I have a good bit in store for you all and for myself for February. I'll use this post as a way to share that with you, cause what else would you expect?
Starting the month of right, tomorrow I'm taking a solo adventure over to Atlanta to see Lana Del Rey! Getting lit on a Monday, I know. I was going to try to go for a double whammy and see BØRNS and stay in Atlanta another night, but things were just getting SO ridiculously expensive, I couldn't have pulled it off unfortunately. BUT! I am still so insanely pumped for Lana. I'll vlog all about that for sure, so be on the look out. Are you subscribed to my YouTube?
I have a BUNCH of collaborations lined up this month, to name a few: Adore Me, The Home T, Don't Tell Your Mama and MORE! I'm really excited about that, I hope you are too!!
I've been working with a ton of other SCAD gals on projects, so expect some QUALITY content here soon. These photos included! How talented is Rachel?! I want to get together a whole girl gang of photographers and do a big photoshoot sometime once it gets warmer, I think that would just be so so fun.
I know this isn't in February, BUT the second day of March (I'm just too excited I have to share now) Kate, John and I are going to DISNEY!! I'm SO ridiculously excited! I've never been to Disney, or at least have zero memory of doing so... Oh my gosh how I've always dreamt of wearing one of those cute little Mickey ear hats with my name embroidered on the back of it... MAJOR HEART EYES!!

This month will be full of adventures, hard work, and lots and lots of fun. I can't wait! AND it's the first full month of me being an ADULT! Gotta make each day count! Here's to doing more, constantly creating, and loving LIFE! xo, O

P.S. I almost forgot to mention! These photos I took during my birthweek as a part of my Birthday Chronicles, shooting in the studio! Success!

Hey
Here we are, I'm officially twenty years old. I started writing on this blog when I was fourteen years old. I was so young; still figuring things out, still deciding what kind of person I wanted to be, my style, my interests, everything. Back then I was just establishing myself as a blogger and in the social media world and look at me now!

I would like to be here in front of you today and say how I've found myself, how proud of the woman I have become and all that coming of age stuff, but the truth is I'm still totally figuring it out. And that is totally, completely, and utterly okay.
Last year I was a freshman in college, I was nineteen. I look around me when I'm with freshman, be it eating in their dining hall, or in a foundations building or something, and I notice the way they hold themselves. They have this sort of air to them, their egos are massive and they think the entire world is theirs. I walked that way last year. Finally in college, finally out on my own, feeling like nothing can stop me, when the truth is everything is all just beginning. I was a tiny fish, just barely entering the massive sea of different adventures life has to offer, awaiting me to dive deeply into it.
A friend of mine wrote a piece once about a similar topic. He went through the different ages, talking about milestones and moments of change that each new age has to offer. He wrote it at nineteen. I remember reading it, I was fourteen at the time, and thinking, "wow, he's so mature, so old, he really knows what he's talking about" and maybe he did at the time! But flash forward to myself at nineteen, I feel so young. Younger even at twenty. It's as if nothing has changed, now there is just more pressure to not mess up.

I remember meeting twenty year olds, whether it be a camp counselor or one of my sisters college friends and thinking, "wow, they are so cool, so grown up, so old, I can't wait to be just like them." But feeling like me being "just like them" was NEVER going to happen, me being "just like them" was billions of light years away. But here I am. I made it, I'm just like them and the time I thought would never come, came, and it now moves really freaking fast and it doesn't seem to ever slow down.
Twenty is going to be a huge year for me. So much had changed in my nineteenth year, I don't even know what to expect for twenty, besides the fact that I am going to have to just take it one day at a time.

Something that I am constantly having to work on is the fact that I over analyze everything, I overthink and I set my expectations for everything way too high. I need to start being easier on myself, and taking everything with a grain of salt. Realizing that not everyone nor everything is perfect, and this whole thing is a learning experience.

I am constantly growing, even if I am now at a point in my life where I thought I would have it all figured out, I know I don't and that is okay. This is just the beginning for me and I cannot wait to see where my wonderful life takes me.
Here's to twenty!! xo, O

RED, WHITE, BLUE, AND YOU

HEY GUYS! As I'm sure you've noticed, I haven't been posting birthday chronicles everyday. But don't worry, that doesn't mean I'm not doing the things! Some things that were on my list like, shooting in the studio, are things that I won't be able to post until later, gotta give the photog time to edit pics and what not! No rush, ya know?

BUT! I'm here and ready with a post! Yesterday, Matt and I got together with Julia and Peter and took some mushy couple pics. Matt and I didn't even plan it, but I love how he's wearing a white and blue outfit and I'm wearing a red and white outfit. That plus the palm trees, it's like we are in LA in some hot american summer dream. Not sure if that really makes sense, but it's a vibe.

Anyway, I hope you all have had a good week. Only a few days until my big day! Have a great weekend :) xo, O

SPARKLERS AT SUNSET

Howdy y'all!

It's day two of The Birthday Chronicles! Today's chronicle was to go to one of the tallest places in Savannah and watch the sunset, light sparklers and have a good time! This was a process though let me tell you... Today (of course) it was one of the windiest days in all of Savannah wind history, I mean maybe not, I haven't checked my almanac or anything, but it was super windy, you get it. So naturally, one would presume that trying to light anything on fire would present itself a challenge. That's not to mention all I has was a 30 cent lighter from a gas station that was basically juiceless!

Regardless of the challenges mother nature threw at us, John (John shot these for me) and I had a great time shooting. Everyone and their mother had the same idea too, we weren't the only ones taking photos at this very parking garage. Guess it's a popular spot! I've actually shot here in the past with my friend Julia...

You can see that post here. I've been reminiscing a lot lately, thinking about how I'll be twenty in only a few days, it's crazy that that post was written over a year ago. It feels like just yesterday and yet ages ago, I've grown and changed so much since then. Wild what one year can do! But more on that later ;) xo, O

THE BEST AVO TOAST IN SAVANNAH

Hello! Happy day one of The Birthday Chronicles!

Today I celebrated myself in a way all good things should be celebrated, with food! I'm sure when you read yesterdays post about what I plan to do with these chronicles and saw avocado toast you probably thought Collins Quarter, but NO! Although it is delicious, and to be had later this week... the real champion avo toast comes from The tiny, AC-less, flavor filled Diplomat.

The Diplomat opened this past fall right before we all came back for school. Perfect timing! They are still relatively new, and to my knowledge still getting it's name out there. So for all you Savannah dwellers, if you're looking to eat the best avocado toast you'll ever have in your life, head here. I think what makes it stand out are the pumpkin seeds and dill sprinkled on top. The flavors are unreal, and so is the bread! Guy Fieri would be impressed, one bite of this bad boy and you're sent straight to flavor town...

Also, today I wore this cute denim get up and was feelin' myself in my new Oui Fresh sunnies!! Life is always better when I'm wearing a cute outfit :)

What is your favorite food? xo, O
