HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays, that and Valentine's Day, and Christmas of course, but not counting Christmas, it's always either Halloween or Valentine's Day... Anyway, since today is Halloween AND Ten Things Tuesday, I thought I would do a Halloween round up, sharing some of my favorite Halloween costumes, DIYs, movies, and foods!! I know obviously it's technically too late to do these, but it's more just in the spirit of Halloween :)
Enjoy! I hope your Halloween was spooktacular!

COSTUMES:
1Rock Candy
Of course I had to start off the costumes portion with a Studio DIY costume, and this rock candy costume absolutely stole my heart away when I first saw it!! 100% my favorite, SO original and fun!
2. Burrito with Guac
This easy last minute costume from AwwSam is too cute for words, and with experience working at chipotle and having to say "Guac is extra is that okay" 15,00000000000 times a day, I respect all those who say up front that they know...
3. Dollar Store DIY Costumes (especially Lemonade)
I've been a follower of With Wendy on Youtube for forever, she makes clothes and does other cute DIYs and is so totally awesome. This video is actually from last year, and not even from her channel, but it was too iconic to not add in this years round up.
Okay... So I couldn't get away with not sharing another Studio DIY costume... but you guys, HOW CAN YOU RESIST BABY ARLO!!! Literally the cutest baby I've ever seen, and in a cactus costume?! I mean... come on. Kelly always comes up with the best costume ideas, and just DIY ideas in general, highly recommend checking out her blog.

DIYs:
5. Skull String Art
An A Beautiful Mess classic DIY. String art is actually so much easier than it seems and way cheap. Totally recommend this for any DIY! I've made them before saying words, doing hearts, and all sorts of other shapes. Try it!!
This year when carving pumpkins I just went for the classic jack-o-lantern smile, but I so so so love how creative some people are getting with pumpkin decorating these days! It's not just about carving anymore y'all!

MOVIES: The links I have below are to the movies on Netflix, not sure if it will work since I'm signed into my account, but it you have Netflix, hopefully it does!!!
7. Coraline
I first saw Coraline in 8th grade and remember being thoroughly freaked out. It's creepy, and spooky, and so clever and interesting all at the same time. It's the perfect Halloween movie if you aren't into horror or anything too ridiculous like that.
So this can either be a Halloween or Christmas movie, and it's just that good that watching it twice a year is completely acceptable, I know we have in my house at least!! This musical is so much fun and funny. 10/10 would recommend.

FOOD:
9. Mummy Pumpkin Truffles
Ahhh yes, the food category, my favorite. How CUTE are these little mummy dudes?! They're almost too cute to eat (but not really) And better yet, they're pumpkin cheesecake truffles on the inside, omg I'm salivating just thinking about it!!!
10. Ghostly Pizzas!
On Halloween we practically overdose on sweets, so it's nice to have a savory snack to break that up! These ghost pizzas are perfect for that! Because who doesn't love pizza, and who doesn't love SPOOKY PIZZA?!?!? Crazy people I guess...

That wraps up this weeks Ten Things Tuesday!! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! Now here's to looking forward to Thanksgiving! What are your favorite Thanksgiving memories? xo, O

HAPPY ALMOST HALLOWEEN!!
Tomorrow is Halloween and I am SO excited! I love everything about Halloween, the candy the costumes, the spooks, the candy... did I mention that already?? I just really love candy you guys.
I'm being Dark Betty from Riverdale tomorrow, if you saw my latest YouTube video then you already know what that looks like, but maybe I'll post an insta or something. Are you following me on both of those platforms?? No? Well you should.

Anyway! Halloween!! Some of my best memories are from Halloween! Dressing up and going trick-or-treating with my brother and sister and then organizing and sorting out all of our candy, then making deals and trying to make a convincing enough argument as to why Saunders would want my Whoppers over his full sized Reece's... why would he though? Who would give up a full sized Reece's cup!? and for WHOPPERS at that!! Being a candy salesperson at age eight was a tough gig y'all... No one ever wanted to make deals with me. BUT alas, it would always be so much fun to bring candy to school the next day as dessert in your lunch box and be like "hey look at me, I got a full sized bar and you're sitting there with a halloween themed pretzels package, twerp."

Halloween has always been the best, here's to many more fun years of tricks and treats to come!! What are your plans? Comment down below! xo, O

It may be Sunday, but Halloweekend isn't over yet! As a matter of fact, it's just getting started >:)
Hello, Hello Everyone! Although I didn't do much of any Halloween themed things this weekend, I still had a wonderful one! My parents were visiting from Richmond, and we had a blast. It was a quick trip, but still a good one :) I love having them here!! So Mama and Papa (yes, I do call my parents Mama and Papa) if you're reading this: thank you for a spectacular weekend! I love y'all so much!!

As far as this outfit goes, primarily this sweatshirt... I never understood the real confusion of an impulse buy until I bought this sweatshirt. I kid you not, I was sitting on the plane, needing to turn my phone on airplane mode, but just finishing up on Instagram, saw this sweatshirt in a sponsored post, clicked the link, immediately purchased it SO QUICKLY, without even really thinking! Flipped my phone to airplane mode as if nothing had happened and then took a step back and was like, "wait a second, did I really just buy a sweatshirt that actually says 'bad and boooooojee' on it?! In under a minute?! What." Truly an impulse buy. BUT it's honestly so cute and comfy and I really do like it, no lie y'all I like it, and I'm glad I bought it!! I mean I only get to wear it but so much, because it is Halloweeny, so yes, I'm glad I now have some more Halloween gear! Yahooties!!

Anyway, what did you guys do this weekend?? Comment down below and let me know!

BEACH BABE

Good morning babes!
Yesterday Cassie and I woke up at the crack o' dawn to catch the sunrise at Tybee Island, and although it was FREEZING at first, it was so much fun!! I had some strawberry milk before hand, so I couldn't really complain... Surprisingly enough, being in the water was better than just standing on the beach, it was so wildly windy and only 50some degrees, it made the water feel warm which was oh oh oh so nice. Then of course... being in that wind after being in the water..? Not fun.

I'm so happy I finally got the chance to shoot in my Flagpole suits. They are so stylish and comfortable. When it comes to swimwear I'm either a one piece, or high-waisted kind of gal. I find these to just work better for my body, more flattering and what not. BUT I always struggle when trying to find high-waisted bottoms, having them just go around my hips, and never really hugging my waist in the right way, always falling right below my belly button, being more of a high rise, not high-waisted. Not this one though, never have I had a better fitting suit!! Fits like a glove, AND actually covers my belly button and waist. VERY satisfied by the quality of Flagpole's suits y'all, very satisfied. Seriously, give Flagpole a look, you won't regret it!

I'm headed home today for the weekend and I could not be more excited. Hopefully I'll be able to get some posts up from ol' RVA, so be on the look out for those :) Until then! xo, O

GETTING TO KNOW YOU: FLAGPOLE SWIM

Happy Hump Day y'all! Today I'm starting a new feature called "Getting to Know You", where I'll go behind the scenes and introduce you to cool new companies, designers, artists etc. As you remember, when I was in New York City this past summer I met up with the oh so incredible gals of Flagpole, where we hung out, shot nerf guns, talked swimwear and SCAD. As always, any visit with Jaime and Megan is a good one.

But okay okay, let me back up for a bit, basically I was first introduced to the bomb swimwear company Flagpole two summers ago when I went on a fashion trip to NYC with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts after winning in the Teen Stylin' Fashion Show. (*breath* run on sentence I know, but bare with me) It was the Summer after my senior year and I was headed to SCAD for the first time that fall. Turns out, one of the stellar co-founders and designers and just all around superstars of Flagpole, Jaime, also went to SCAD! So we got chatting... flash forward a year to last Summer, I was headed to New York and knew I wanted to stop in, take some pics, and say hi. I thought it was about time y'all got to know Flagpole too. AND what a better time than now, because TODAY they've launched their Summer 2018 collection!! Super duper exciting, be sure to check that out too :)
FLAGPOLE THEN:
For Jaime, her first job was working in a factory that produced swimwear. However, she realized that what she wanted didn't exist. She wanted something that looked cool, was easy to move in, and was built well. Feeling like that niche was missing, she realized she could start her own. Everything all made sense at once, the idea for Flagpole came so naturally, everything was there and just waiting for her to run with it. So, in 2011 Jaime and Megan got together and explored the idea of Flagpole, then to be launched in 2014.
FLAGPOLE NOW:
Wondering where the name came from? Well, co-founders Jaime and Megan actually grew up together near a beach in Florida, on that beach there was a flagpole... enough said.

Flagpole is proud to be a brand that is made in the USA. They are a small brand where everything is all in one place (NYC Fashion District) This way, it is much easier to maintain quality control of the products, which is SO important, especially when producing such high quality goods.

Flagpole stands for function first, and then fashion. When creating the suits, the first priority is to make sure you aren't limited. The suits are both highly sturdy and highly fashionable, so even the most athletic women can look fabulous. Trust me when I say this, I have a few suits and they are the most comfortable, durable, and all around 100% best suits I've ever owned.
THE FUTURE OF FLAGPOLE:
While Flagpole started as a swimwear company, they are evolving into a lifestyle brand. Slowly building out the next steps for a woman who can outfit her whole vacation, and maybe even her whole family! Today, Flagpole launched their first ever line of men's suits!
Flagpole also plans to branch out to beauty.
THE FACES BEHIND FLAGPOLE:
Jaime Barker and Megan Balch were best friends growing up, they went to high school together, split off for college, but joined forces to start Flagpole in 2011 (launched in 2014). They always knew they wanted to work together, being that they are both very entrepreneurial, passionate and have the same taste. These (barely 30 years old) ((like, WHAT!)) boss babes work so well together, they rarely disagree and if they do it's for the best, they've got the same goal and work to push each other towards greatness. Talk about sisterhood y'all, I'm seriously jealous.
Overall, Flagpole is an incredible brand, built by women, for women, and made in the USA too?! What's not to love!? Be sure to browse their suits and more online, here.

That pretty much wraps the first ever edition of Getting To Know You! Let me know what you guys think about this feature! I think it will be cool to go around and meet some designers, local boutique owners, or really even just some dope people and introduce y'all to them through the blog :)

Thank you so much Jaime and Megan for letting me come hang out with you guys!!
