GOOOOOD Evening my dudes!

This past weekend I shot on film for the first time ever with my new friend Angie. She is seriously so talented. And shooting on film is such a cool process, you have to really have to focus with it. When modeling I like to move around a lot, get different poses, and have photos in motion... Whereas with film, you pretty much have to stay still and hold the poses, in a lot of the photos I'm totally squinting because my eyes couldn't handle the sun for too long!! But really, check out Angie's work, she really knows what she's doing!!!

As for this outfit, 1. I LOVE these earrings, I get complements on them all day long whenever I wear them. They were made by another SCAD student, Mallory Wolk, she and I were in english together and I would always be so in love with her earrings I got her to make me some of my own! A true gem she is. And 2. double denim is to DIE FOR! Fun fact, the top I'm wearing is actually a dress, so I constantly had to ask Angie if my butt looked lumpy from it hahaha!! 

I realize denim may be fading into a passing trend, but I love it so so much.

Nothing like a good 'ol joutfit am I right ladies? My two loves- over sized denim jackets and embellished shoes from my moms closet. I've been really excited about stepping up my shoe game lately. (get it? stepping? shoes? hahaha I'm great) Man Repeller has inspired me to go big with footwear, cause WHY THE HECK NOT?! Leandra knows her ish when it comes to shoes. Shoe faves? It's Friyeday Friyeday gotta get down on Friyeday! For real tho, more like gotta get down in bed for a nap and some intimate cheeto eating one on none with the bae I don't have. Yeah pretty much though... This past week and the last I've basically only been listening to Oh Wonder. I kinda pirated their most recent album and I'm obsessed. I can't decide if Drive or Landslide is my favorite... or Technicolor Beast, gosh they're all so good. Go listen!

jeans- Hidden Fashion

Pink on Pink on Pink on Pinkkkk.... I really like this outfit, not only is pink my favorite color, but I love mom jeans every day all day. Not only are they so comfy, but they are just so unflatteringly flattering. Does that make sense? Just the way they hug zero of my curves and make my legs look shapeless, works. Call me crazy but I love it.

I spent some time in the museum with Ally this weekend, thinking that it'd be super cool taking photos around and next to all the art. Okay, it was way more difficult and complicated than you'd think. For real it was pretty high maintenance, either it was way too dark or there were too many people around looking at the art, or those people who really like to digest the art and meditate. How annoying are we over here with a loud DSLR and me being like "does this look okay?" "what's a good pose?" "omg could you take it from this angle?" Basically we aren't peaceful to meditate with. Hope you can be chiller than we were... it won't be hard I'm sure...

jeans- Forever 21 // shoes- Shoe Mint

I've never had a perfect pair of jeans. Not until now that is... thank you Forever 21 for fulfilling all of my denim desires. Not only are they high waisted but they're bell bottoms!! *heart eyes, heart eyes, HEART EYES!* I haven't been a huge jeans, or really pants in general person until recently, and I really do like it a lot. Also, speaking of recent loves, how about this whole necktie/scarf look? Typically you'd seen it done with a bandanna but I thought, "hey why not mix it up a little bit and idk, use an actuall neck scarf?!" wild I know. But also it was red bandanna or no deal for me, and I could only find a yellow one / didn't feel like driving to Walmart to buy a red one for 97¢. Yes, I did look online and considered buying one... just for these photos... yes.

Anyway, I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend, I know I did. It started out very cold, but turned out to be absolutely beautiful! It was a weekend full of family too which is always fantastic. My cousin got married on Saturday, so I got to spend a lot of time with my fave lil cousins who came up for that. What did you guys do?

High waisted anything remain a staple of warm weather fashion in closets all around the world. I think that every girl should have a pair of high waisted shorts in their wardrobe, they are so flattering, comfortable, and super super cute. Here are some affordable high waisted shorts:

Nothing beats that fabulous feeling when you feel your hot shoulders and arms and just know you're burning, sweat rolling down your face in between your eye brows and just being tired all the time cause of how drained you are from the sun... oh wait, no, that feeling sucks. There is nothing I hate more (that's a lie) than hot hot weather. Muggy air, always feeling sticky, red flushed complexion, just gross greasy hair all the time. Heat does this to me and I hate it. Sorry to be a total negative Nelly, but seriously, it's so so gross. Please just let me stay inside all day long in the AC with Bob's Burgers and a comfy pair of fuzzy socks, I live a really simple life, that's all..

I just got these shoes in the mail from Forever 21 the other day and I am in loooovvveeee with them already. At first when I saw them I only saw them in the brown and was sold but not completely. When I found the blue I absolutely fell in love and am SO glad I got them. They're just PERFECT for summer!! YAYA!!

No, this blog post is not titled after the city in France. It's titled after the song, "Nantes" by Beirut. Nantes was my favorite song a while back, it has recently been brought back into my life and sounds so much better now. Does that ever happen to you? You have a favorite song, overplay it wayyyy too much, but then a year or so later you listen to it again and it sounds different some how? I think it's the place I'm in now vs. the place I was in say, Christmas of my sophomore year... A lot has changed and I feel good. Nantes is also my alarm each morning. People say, "make your alarm something you hate so then you HAVE to get out of bed!" But I disagree, I like to start the day listening to my favorite song, it puts me in the best mood! Thanks Nantes, thanks Beirut.

I LOVE this outfit. When I first bought these shorts, I'm not going to lie, I HATED them. Why did I buy them if I hated them so much? Well, I was 14 and high waisted shorts were a huge trend as always, yet I had zero pairs. I wanted any pair I could get my hands on. I had to force myself to like every pair of high waisted shorts I could find. It was a weird phase I guess.... Anyway, I love them so much now and I'm thankful for my weird obsessive 14 year old self. Thanks me :)
